While You Wait...

A state-wide Advent Reflection Afternoon and End of Year Function for ALL young Tasmanian Catholics!

Advent is a very special time in the Church year. This Reflection afternoon will provide thought provoking, challenging and inspiring input on the season, a chance for a bit of a Q&A on Advent and Christmas, provide time and space from the busy-ness of this end of the year with some space for reflection and prayer as part of your Advent journey this year.

There will then be the option to join us for Mass at Sacred Heart Church, Newstead

We will follow the day up with a fun evening complete with Christmas Dinner and a challenge to a friendly game or two of ten pin bowling to celebrate the year that's been!! Who will be the best in the state?!? Great prizes up for grabs on the evening also!!

If you are unable to make it to both the afternoon reflection and the fun evening of bowling and dinner, you are welcome to register for one or the other, but we HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming to both if you can!!

TRANSPORT & ACCOMMODATION:Transport & Accommodation will be available for those travelling from across the state. Please nominate on your registration if you wish to take advantage of this. Depending on numbers and availability, transport could be via bus or car pooling with other participants and accommodation for the Saturday night is likely to be home stay with a local Parish family or on a class room or hall floor with a mattress.
If you will be driving and have space in your car to take other participants, we would love to hear from you - please indicate so on your registration form also.
If you live in the Launceston area and would be able to offer home stay accommodation we would also be very happy to hear from you, please also indicate this on your registration.

Young Adults Council

Two Young Adults Councils were established in March - one in the south and one in the North of the State.
These councils will look at the needs and wants of young people in the Archdiocese of Hobart and develop, plan and organise events to meet these needs.
The Councils are for people post year 12 - 35 years of age who have ideas, passion and interest in youth ministry. If you would like to get involved in the Councils please contact Rachelle on 0400 045 368 or rachelle.smith@aohtas.org.au

CSYMA (Catholic Schools Youth Ministry Australia)

CSYMA is a school based program for years 9 - 12, it is a four phase program that includes a youth ministry experience, a school based youth ministry cirriculum (or subject), a senior school youth ministry team and wider Church involvement. This program is getting up and running in some Tasmanian Schools this year and hopefully in others over the years to come.
